I know I previously said that I was probably going to build a PVR myself, my friends at work convinced me that an Xbox might be the way to go. Using a Xecuter 3 modchip and Xbox Media Center, you can pretty much watch or play any video or music you want. XBMC supports just about all audio and video codecs; including video containers like OGM and MKV. A new Xbox can be purchased for \$150 retail; then a remote needs purchased (not retail - \$30 is way too much), and the Xecuter 3 modchip is about \$60. A hard drive upgrade is probably necessary; but anything 20G or up should be fine (it comes w/ an 8G). Hopefully Christmas will take care of some of the cost for me ;).
