I've updated the mod_auth_mysql plugin to have real md5 support (as opposed to md5 crypt or whatever its called). You can download my new version while I try to get with the developer to figure out what to do.

Also, this project combined with mod_auth_cache can do some cool stuff like give you cross-domain logins (and only typing your password in once) that are easily updated. Very slick.
