Tiff and I had our 12 week prenatal visit and everything seems to be going well. There is a concern that the pregnancy might have brought out diabetes in her or that she's developing gestational diabetes early since her diabetes screening test came back a little high. I think it's the latter, as she hasn't really had any of the symptoms of diabetes and the screening test wasn't really that far off. She had her 3-hour test this morning where she had to fast for 12 hours then give blood 4 times - once at the beginning and on the hour for the next three hours after drinking this lovely orange glucose drink. Unfortunately we won't know the results for a couple days.

Mixed in with this bad-ish news, we got had a great treat at this visit - we got to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was fast and strong, and very comforting to hear to know that the baby is very strong. I was surprised at how excited I was to hear this - I knew it would be neat, but I didn't realize how much I would enjoy hearing it. Very wonderful!
